Days after demolition started at PNC Field, the Lackawanna County commissioners will unveil renderings of what the new stadium will look like after renovations.

The unveiling comes Wednesday night at a public hearing on the sale of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.

The commissioners are holding that public hearing to discuss a finalized agreement to sell the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees to Mandalay Baseball Properties and the New York Yankees.

They will also be discussing the final plans to renovate PNC Field.

Newswatch 16 got an exclusive first look at those plans.

For the past two years, commissioners have been talking about a fan friendly stadium with no more upper deck and with wide concourses that circle the field.

The renderings show the PNC Field the commissioners hope to have in place by this time next season so the Scranton Wilkes-Barre/Yankees can return there in 2013.

The renovations will be paid for with cash from the state, the Lackawanna County Stadium Authority and reportedly money from Mandalay and the Yankees.

Earlier this week work began removing the seats from the upper deck at the current stadium.

The baby Yankees are playing their entire 2012 season on the road due to the planned demolition and construction here at home.

The commissioners said the deal to sell the Yankees is for $14. 5 million and will keep the team here for at least 30 years.

The public hearing on this finalized deal to sell the Yankees and the renovations to PNC Field is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Scranton Cultural Center.
