State police have filed numerous child sex charges against a man from Dingmans Ferry.

Authorities said the new charges stem from child pornography that was found on the suspect's computer and online.

The case against Michael Bonsignore started in Sweden and has now led to charges filed in Pike County.

In February, Bonsignore pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges and Monday he was arraigned on child sex charges connected to the same case.

Bonsignore did not say anything to reporters as he was being led into his arraignment near Dingmans Ferry. State police said he repeatedly raped two young girls, including one who is autistic, between 2006 and 2011.

The case started last year when the Swedish National Police found pictures and video of child pornography online.

In the background of one of those pictures, police in Sweden noticed an envelope with a return address label from the "Pike County Domestic Relations Office" in Milford.

State police eventually got involved.

"This is the worst I've seen in over 12 years so yeah, it's bad. There's a lot of evidence to go through, a lot of images and videos to look at. There were a lot of bad things to view of this," said Trooper Frank Orlando.

According to court papers, over a course of five years, Bonsignore sexually assaulted the two young girls and videotaped and photographed the acts.

The court papers said he also made a boy commit sex acts in front of a web cam.

Nearly one year ago, state police searched Bonsignore's home inside the Marcel Lake Estates housing development.  State police said they took several items including video cameras, cameras, pictures and DVDs and clothing.

"At that time we confiscated several computers and other devices and located the images Mr. Bonsignore is being arrested for," said Trooper Orlando.

State police said they took items, including bed sheets and furniture, from Bonsignore's home. They said all of the confiscated items can be seen in the graphic images discovered by Swedish National Police.

Bonsignore is now charged with two counts of rape of a child, sexual exploitation of children, corruption of minors and other offenses.

"The charges are blown way out of proportion," said Bonsignore, as he was being led out of district court.

Again, Bonsignore has already pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges.

He is locked up in the Pike County Jail.
