A former high school athletic trainer pleaded guilty Monday to indecent assault and related crimes.
Matthew Godfrey of Watsontown was arrested in December and charged with corruption of minors, unlawful contact with minors and indecent assault. At the time Godfrey was the assistant athletic trainer at Warrior Run Area School District.
A student athlete told police Godfrey sent her inappropriate text messages and pictures and the two had a physical relationship for several months last year.
Godfrey will be required to register under Megan’s Law.
Sentencing is scheduled for early July.
