A woman is recovering after she was stabbed early Monday morning in her home in Carbon County.
Lehighton police said Edward Barrett, 39, went into his girlfriend’s home on Coal Street about 4 a.m. even though he was told not to.
Barrett and his girlfriend got into an argument and, police said, he stabbed the woman twice. A 15-year-old was in the home at the time but was not hurt.
The woman was taken to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital. There is no work on her condition.
Barrett is charged with aggravated assault and assault with a deadly weapon. He is locked up in the Carbon County jail.
