People in Bloomsburg are fired up for a car show that is scheduled to take place this summer.

The Bloomsburg Fair Committee Friday announced a partnership with Carlisle Events to hold a car show at the fairgrounds the second weekend in August.

"This will give an opportunity for people to be on the grounds, see cars, bull riding, concerts.  Show them what we got accomplished since the flood," said Paul Reichart, President of the Bloomsburg Fair Association.

Bloomsburg has had car shows in the past, but organizers said the partnership with Carlisle Events will bring thousands of people to Columbia County.

A spokesperson for Carlisle Events said he is hoping for more than 800 cars, trucks and motorcycles.

"We plan on bringing more vendors, more cars.  We have a large database and plan on using it to grow the business and bring a lot of people to Bloomsburg as well," said Lance Miller, co-owner of Carlisle Events.

The Bloomsburg Fair Association signed a five-year contract to host the car show.  Cody Musselman said he is excited because he is familiar with what Carlisle Events does.

"I've been to Carlisle Events in Carlisle.  Thousands of people go there. Their grounds are the same size, maybe even smaller than Bloomsburg. You're walking around, bumping elbows," said Musselman.

"It's gonna be real good for the town to bring in money for the fair it will do good, recovering from the flood, people will see its grown here," said Curtis Stackhouse of Millville.

The car show will be held August 10 through 12 at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.
