Woman Pleads Guilty to Stealing from Employer

A woman accused of stealing nearly $100,000 from her employer pleaded guilty Friday in Lackawanna Count court.

Arlene Voelbel of South Abington Township was charged with stealing from Sandvik Steel when she worked in the accounts payable department.

Prosecutors said Voelbel replace the company’s bank account information with her personal account when making wire transfer payments for goods and services.

Voelbel is expected to be sentenced in about 90 days.
