Area veterans received special recognition Saturday in Luzerne County.
More than 120 World War II and Korean War veterans were honored during a special ceremony at Leo Solomon Junior High School in Plains.
State Representative Eddie Pashinski was on hand for the event.
He said without veterans, our country would not be what it is today.
“This is just a small humble way of me and the state to come look at Pennsylvania saying thank you to so many men and women who served our county,” said Pashinski.
Each veteran received personalized Pennsylvania House of Representatives certificates and medals at the event.
