Person Hit and Killed on Busy Interstate

One person is dead after being hit on a busy interstate.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 81 in Plains Township near the entrance to the North Cross Valley Expressway.

The Luzerne County coroner’s office said Darren Simonson, 52, of Plains Township was killed when he was hit by a vehicle while walking along Interstate 81.
