More information is known about a reported home invasion that happened Monday evening in Luzerne County.

The victim told police she was attacked in her bedroom by someone she doesn't know.

The reported home invasion happened along Exeter Avenue in West Pittston. A woman living in the home told police a masked man made his way into her house, came upstairs into her bedroom, and tried to choke her with a cord.

Deborah Lemardy told police a man dressed in black and wearing a mask came in through a window while she was home alone and attacked her in her bedroom.

According to police, Lemardy told them she was upstairs in her bedroom when the man came in through a downstairs window, came upstairs into her bedroom, choked her with a cell phone charger, then got away with several hundred dollars and prescription pills.

Lemardy was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital for treatment. Police said she had bruises on her neck but was released a short time later.

Several neighbors who were home around 6 p.m. Monday when Lemardy told police the attack happened said they saw and heard nothing unusual.

West Pittston police said their investigation is continuing.
