A deadly crash on Interstate 80 early Tuesday morning shut down part of the highway for hours.

Now one man faces charges after police said he was driving drunk.

Authorities said the victim was killed when a man from Monroe County hit him while driving drunk on I-80 near the Main Street exit in Stroudsburg.

Police said Lester Lee Tucker of East Stroudsburg was driving drunk on Interstate 80 about 2 a.m. his vehicle hit another, killing a man and his dog.

The crash shut down one lane of I-80 eastbound for most of the morning as police reconstructed the crash.

Tucker was arraigned on homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence charges.

Investigators said Tucker was speeding on Interstate 80 eastbound. He tried to change lanes but ended up hitting a pick-up truck. The force caused the pick-up to flip, roll down a small embankment and land on its roof.

The driver of the pick-up, Raymond Gelormini, Jr. from Hackettstown, New Jersey was killed. His German shepherd also died.

Police said Tucker told them the pick-up truck cut him off.

As police interviewed Tucker they said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. His eyes were glassy and blood shot and he was slurring his speech.

Tucker told police he only had two drinks, but they said he was given a sobriety test and failed.

Tucker was then arraigned hours after the crash.

In court, he told the judge, "I'm sorry. I did a horrible thing."

Lester Tucker is behind bars facing homicide by vehicle and DUI charges.

The name of the victim from New Jersey has not yet been released.
