An early morning shoot out in Luzerne County leaves a mother and child in the hospital.
They weren’t hit by any bullets, but they were forced to jump from a third story window to escape the gunfire, according to police.
The shots were fired at Interfaith apartments on Coal Street in Wilkes-Barre just after midnight Wednesday morning.
Police tell us a man came to the apartment and started arguing with another man who lived with the mother and child.
Investigators said both men pulled weapons – one, a gun the other, a pellet gun – and shot at each other.
The mother and child jumped.
Officials have not said how badly they were hurt.
The two men ran from the scene in Wilkes-Barre and they are still on the loose.
