Old Bomb Detonated in Columbia County

Some people living between Bloomsburg and Danville were startled last night by the sound of an explosion.

A four foot bomb was detonated at a quarry after being discovered near Catawissa.

Police said they were clearing away brush Monday along Old Reading Road when they discovered the bomb from the Vietnam era.

A bomb unit from Maryland removed the bomb and detonated it.
