A mother from Shenandoah is in jail after being arrested for allegedly abusing her one-year-old child.

Patricia Carter admits shaking her baby, but told police she was only playing with him.

Investigators said the incident, plus other abuse was caught on camera.

People who were staying with Carter set up a camera in the home after they suspected she was abusing the baby.

“This is a very hard case for any officer to deal with,  especially one that might have children or family. It kind of hit close to home,” said Shenandoah Police Officer Chris Zubris.

Carter told a Schuylkill County judge Thursday that she is pregnant with her second child.
