Scranton businessman Bob Bolus was found guilty Wednesday afternoon of insurance fraud.
A jury in Lackawanna County convicted Bolus of filing a fraudulent insurance claim and attempting to commit theft by deception. The jury deliberated about an hour before reaching a decision.
Bolus is the owner of Bolus Trucks and Towing.
The charges stem from a March, 2009 crash of a Bolus truck. He filed a claim for damages to two vehicles and towing costs.
A state investigator said the claims were embellished and some of the damage was from an earlier crash.
Bolus claimed the charges were politically motivated.
