Police in the Poconos are facing challenges as they investigate a gunfight early Monday morning outside a bar after a birthday party.

Two people were hurt during the shoot-out in Mount Pocono.

Police are asking for more witnesses to come forward to help them find those responsible for the shooting outside Copa Bar and Grille.

Two people are still recovering after being shot.

"I was shocked. I couldn't believe it," said Julian Fowler of Diamond Cutz.

"From what I know it usually is pretty quiet. Sometimes I get lunch from there, but I've never been there at night."

Police say a large group was at Copa Bar and Grille for a birthday party.

At the end of the night everyone went outside and that's when the gunfire started.

Police said nearly two dozen shots were fired two people were hit. Both are in serious condition.

The violence surprised the workers at Diamond Cutz.

"I'm always going for lunch, Philly cheese steak, that's it, you know, I heard that. I can't believe that because I came from Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico is crazy all the time and I haven't ever saw something like that here, you know," said Jose Roldan of Diamond Cutz.

Police said the bar has had issues in the past.

In January there was a stabbing outside the place. No charges were filed because police said the victim refused to cooperate.

Police have also been called to the bar for several assaults but nothing as violent as this.

Officials with the state police liquor control enforcement said Copa Bar and Grille has been cited over the past three years for serving underage customers, bounced checks and improper bartender training.

They said it is too early to tell if the owner of the bar could be held accountable in any way for the shooting.
