The inmate who escaped from the Lackawanna County prison last September was sentenced Monday for breaking out of the lockup and beating another inmate.

Michael Simonson received 20 to 49 years for those crimes.

A jury found Simonson guilty in December for beating inmate Nicholas Pinto nearly to death in the Lackawanna County jail.

Simonson is currently serving a life sentence for murder in Luzerne County.
