No Strike for Scranton School District
Students in the Scranton School District will have school on Monday.
Teachers and the district came to a tentative agreement around 6 p.m. Saturday.
The deal is for three years.
Both sides headed back to the bargaining table Saturday morning.
The negotiations came on top of Friday’s eight hour bargaining session.
Teachers were threatening to strike Monday morning if no deal was reached.
The teachers’ old contract expired at the start of the current school year.
There will be a meeting on Wednesday at 3:20 p.m. at Scranton High School to ratify the terms of the agreement.
