Guilty Plea in Drug Overdose Death

A man accused of killing his girlfriend by injecting her with what he thought was heroin pleaded guilty Friday in Susquehanna County.

Eugene Parrish pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. He admitted injecting Kathryn Pelka in June, 2011. She later died from an overdose. An autopsy found Pelka died from the combined effects of cocaine and morphine.

Parrish also admitted not calling for help in time.

He faces up to five years in prison. Sentencing is set for late next month.
