Man Charged with Forgery, Theft

A man is charged with stealing more than $20,000 from his employer in Union County.

David Burns, 56, of Milton was arrested Tuesday.

Police said he activated a company credit card without permission and made a number of purchases over a one year period.

At the time, Burns was manager of the Mifflinburg Hotel and Scarlet “D” Tavern. He is also charged with making payments on the credit card using money from the hotel’s business account.

Burns is charged with forgery, theft, receiving stolen property and related crimes.
