Presidents' Day weekend is over, but area ski resorts are still banking on brisk business through the entire holiday week.

After the season they have had so far they could really use it.

At Sno Mountain in Scranton the crowds did not disappoint, despite a nearly snow-less winter.

Hundreds of people packed Sno Mountain in Scranton over the three-day holiday weekend.

Skiers and snowboarders were amped to spend Presidents' Day on the slopes.

"Well considering the winter we didn't have, it was nice. The snow was alright, it wasn't too icy. So it was good," said Jeff Bologna of Lancaster.

It was also a great day to take a lesson.

"I was skiing down the big hill, it was so fun, and I actually made my turns," said five-year-old Stella Kwiecinski. She took a few lessons, and is quickly learning. Practice makes perfect. "I do fall down a little bit, I do."

Overall this season, business has been down about 35 percent compared to recent years.

Folks here at Sno Mountain were breathing a sigh of relief when this year's Presidents' Day crowds almost matched last year's.

"We were really counting on the groups to come out and support the mountain, which they have. So we're thrilled. The weather is perfect," said Nancy Kaminski of Sno Mountain.

While the mild temps were nice for skiers, Maya Rubach from the Philadelphia area said she misses the luxurious feel of real snow.

"It's more like slushy with man made snow and real snow is like fluffy, easier," Rubach said.

First timers to Sno Mountain said their Presidents' Day weekend experience may just turn them into regulars.

"We'll definitely come back here. I think it's a very low key place and it's not that busy so that makes it very nice. It makes it more relaxed," said Emery Mersich of Metuchen, New Jersey.

Sno Mountain officials said the entire week is typically the second busiest week of the ski season, behind the week of Martin Luther King Day.
