A teacher is on administrative leave after he was accused of kissing a 16-year-old student.

Police in Forty Fort charged Robert Lugiano with corruption of minors and indecent assault. He is a music teacher at Wyoming Seminary Lower School.

Investigators said in November Lugiano kissed the girl in his office during a private music lesson after school hours.

Lugiano, who lives in Jackson Township, is still employed by the school but is on administrative leave. He has worked at the school for 16 years.

People who don't know Lugiano said they are disturbed by the charges against him.

"You kind of want to believe when they go to school they are safe from any kind of predator," said Ellie Morkavage of West Wyoming.

"You are trusting your kids to go to the school and these people are looking out for your children.  This is what their job is, looking out for their welfare. That’s definitely a break down in that trust," said Chris Molesky of Wapwallopan.

Lugiano is free on $75,000 bail. A hearing on the charges is scheduled in March.
