He didn't talk for long, it was only about five minutes, but in that short amount of time, Jerry Sandusky thanked his attorneys and addressed some of the motions that were brought up in court Friday, such as wanting to spend time with his grandchildren.
It was outside the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte where the former assistant Penn State football coach spoke out.
Jerry Sandusky told reporters he wants to see his close friends and, most importantly, his grandchildren who now have to be turned away by their grandmother.
"They ask to talk to me and she has to tell them they can't. I'm sensitive to that. Or when she visits and tells me one of them said they only thing he wants for his birthday is to be able to see people," Sandusky said.
He also answered the prosecution's concerns that he spends time on his back deck within eyesight of a playground.
"And now all of a sudden, because of allegations and perceptions that have tried to been created of me, I can't take my dog on my deck and throw out biscuits to him," the former coach added.
Before he addressed the media, Sandusky spoke out in court, smiling and agreeing with his attorneys about the motions filed. He said he is grateful to his defense for pouring their hearts and souls into his case.
"I've got to go home and think about all the people who support me. Thank you," he said.
Sandusky also told reporters his home has been open to all kinds of people for 27 years. Hundreds of people have stayed there. He said he has associated with thousands of young people over the years.
