An alert neighbor led to the arrest of two men on burglary charges.
State police said the neighbor noticed two men inside a slaughter house on Bassett Road in Benton Township. Police said the two were loading scrap metal into a trailer.
Troopers stopped the pair on Interstate 81 near the Clarks Summit exit. Inside the trailer police found 2,000 pounds of scrap metal and tools used to cut the metal.
Emilio Goussen of Carbondale and Derek Heater of Simpson are charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property. Goussen is also charged with driving with a suspended license.
Both men are locked up in the Lackawanna County jail.
