The New York Giants face the New England Patriots in Superbowl 46 on Sunday February 5th, 2012 in Indianapolis. Just four years ago it was the same matchup in Superbowl 42 with the Giants winning. Newswatch 16 sports traveled to East Rutherford, New Jersey to talk with two players who start on the Giants offense.
It was media day for the New York Giants Thursday afternoon and Newswatch 16 sports cathching up with offensive lineman Chris Snee from Montrose as he prepares for his second Superbowl trip in the last four years.
"Especially after missing the playoffs the last two years to be out of this thing and forget how special it is and how privileged we are to be in the playoffs we lost sight of that. We're excited about this." said Chris Snee.
And the other local guy playing for the New York football Giants fullback Henry Hynoski the former Southern Columbia Tiger and Pitt Panther waited thru an NFL lockout for a chance to play , now he's ready for a superbowl.
"From my earliest memories watching with my family growing up the Superbowls being 5-6 yrs old, I was thinking wow wouldn't it be great if I get a chance to go there one day. Here it's my first year in the NFL as a rookie and I get to play in the Superbowl. It's a surreal experience and a surreal feeling." said Henry Hynoski.
To win Superbowl 46 you have to knock off New England. The two Pennsylvania boys have a plan.
"We just have to find a way to run the ball against that front, and do a better job of protecting eli than we did last week against San Francisco." again said Chris.
"The key is we have to run the football. There's no doubt about that. We have to come out and wear down the clock. Keep the ball out of the offenses hands and running the football is going to be key to set up our play action passes. And the rest of the game the #1 thing we have to start is running the ball-open things up in the pass game." again said Henry.
One more win for the Giants and that makes it six in a row and another Lombardi trophy. The fourth in franchise history.
