A man walking down a street in Hazleton was assaulted early Thursday morning and robbed, according to police.

Investigators said ALex McLean, 22, of Hazleton was on walking near the intersection of Alter and Twentieth streets about 6:45 a.m. when he was approached by two men.

Both men were wearing black clothing, black hooded jackets with hoods and bandannas covering part of their faces. One of the men had a gun.

They threatened to shoot McLean if he didn’t give them everything he had with him. McLean managed to get the gun away, but the two men threw him to the ground and assaulted him before running away.

McLean was treated at Hazleton General Hospital.
