A Lackawanna County man was jailed after he attacked a woman with a knife, according to police.

Erik Cain, 30, was arrested Thursday night in Carbondale.

Police say Cain attacked his girlfriend Jessica Cobb, also of Carbondale in her apartment along Westgate Drive in the Summit Garden Apartments.

Cobb told police Cain attacked and strangled her. She grabbed a knife to defend herself but Cain wrestled it away from her, slashing her wrist.

Cain is currently locked up in the Lackawanna County jail.
