A man from Tremont Township is in jail in Schuylkill County, accused of swindling his own grandfather.

Michael Workman Junior is charged with fraud, identity theft and other charges. His grandfather, Gerald Workman, 72, said he is just sick over the charges his grandson faces.

Michael Workmans is accused of stealing his grandfather's credit cards and making more than $15,000 in purchases, everything from car parts to fast food.

"It was very upsetting and I was very upset I had to have him arrested and all. It wasn't good at all," said Gerald Workman from his Tremont Township home Monday night.

Workman said his grandson lived with him and started stealing from him last March.

Gerald Workman got suspicious when he saw his credit card bills.

"I opened the statement up and it had on there I owed almost $4,000 and I thought, this can't be! And I called the company and it's fraud. He had stolen my credit cards and how he got them, I don't know, I have no idea."

Gerald Workman said his relationship with his grandson is over.

"I practically raised him. I don't know why he did it. He had just about anything and everything he wanted."

Gerald Workman said thankfully he does not have to pay the credit card bills.
