An overturned tractor-trailer closed one lane of the turnpike in each direction Tuesday morning in Lackawanna County.
State police said the driver lost control of the truck about 8 a.m. on a curve just before the toll booths at the Clarks Summit interchange.The truck flipped blocking one northbound and one southbound lane.
The driver and a passenger were in the rig when it flipped. One of them was trapped for about a half hour. Both were taken to Community Medical Center for treatment.
Some diesel fuel spilled so a hazardous materials crew was called in to help.The trailer was carrying a load of industrial paper.
