After a tough season off the field, Penn State was hoping to cap off the season with a win at the Ticket City Bowl Monday afternoon in Texas.

That didn’t happen.

When you put a NCAA record-setting quarterback against a struggling back-up quarterback, the match-up doesn’t look good.

Houston’s Case Keenum took on Penn State’s Rob Bolden and the match-up was far from being even.

It’s never a good sign when your quarterback has three times as many interceptions as touchdowns in season. That’s the case for Rob Bolden. He was forced to counter one of the nations best quarterbacks in Case Keenum.

Keenum entered the game as the NCAA career leader in passing yards and touchdown passes, and during the game added another record to his impressive resume. He racked up 227 yards in the first quarter alone, setting the record for most yards passing in a single quarter in any bowl game.

Keenum’s Cougars pounced on the Lions over and over again.

Penn State’s tumultuous year ends in a loss.

The final of the Ticket City Bowl game was 30-14.
