Former Penn State football assistant coach Jerry Sandusky is talking about the sex charges against him and he denies he did anything wrong.

The former defensive coordinator went on the offensive Monday night, telling NBC's Bob Costas he didn't do anything wrong. The interview, by phone, was on NBC's Rock Center with Brian Williams.

Sandusky was asked to respond to the forty charges against him.

“I say that I am innocent of those charges,” said Sandusky.

“Innocent?” asked Costas. “Completely innocent and falsely accused in every aspect?”

“Well I could say that, you know, I have done some of those things.  I have horsed around with kids.  I have showered after workouts.  I have hugged them and I have touched their leg without intent of sexual contact.”

"Are you sexually attracted to underage boys?"

"Am I sexually attracted to young boys? Sexually attracted? No. I enjoy young people. I love to be around them. But, no, I'm not sexually attracted to young boys," Sandusky responded.

Sandusky was asked if former head coach Joe Paterno ever spoke with him, after these allegations first surfaced years ago. Sandusky answered no.

Sandusky's attorney told CNN the admission to being in the shower with a boy does not mean his client is guilty of sexual assault.

"Jocks do that. They kid around, they horse around," said attorney Joe Amendola. "That's a far different thing than saying he got showers with kids than saying that he committed these other acts, which the prosecution has alleged he did."

Amendola said the government doesn't have a case against his client.

"Well, when you look at it, when you take it apart complaint by complaint, person by person, because there are allegedly eight, eight supposed victims, and you look at what the allegations are, we have answers for each one of those.  Now, in two or three, even perhaps four of those, I mean, the allegation is that Jerry put his hand on a boy's knee at some point in a car; got a shower with them and gave a bear hug, all of which, I might add, don't involve criminal activity, even if believed.”

Jerry Sandusky remains free on bail, but not free of controversy.  He lives next to an elementary school in the State College Area School District, and some parents there said they are worried.

The New York Times reports that 10 more alleged victims are telling their stories to police.
